Brookline Summer Sublet
Looking to sublet my room in a 4-bedroom apartment in Brookline. About me: I'm a Harvard Law student who has spent my 1L year in this apartment and will return for 2L. I'll be working in DC over the summer. About Brookline: the neighborhood is very... quiet and I've always felt very safe here. The apartment is about 10 minutes by foot from a bus stop and about 10-15 from Green Line stops at Brookline Village or Coolidge Corner. I typically take the 66 bus to get up to campus, which runs very frequently. One could also bike or drive, although I would have to ask about the parking situation. There are quite a few restaurants, bars, and shops in nearby Coolidge Corner. There is also a Stop and Shop and Trader Joe's within walking distance, as well as two Minutemen public library locations. About the apartment: this is a 4-bedroom apartment managed by a private landlord. The apartment is pet- and smoke-free. Water and heat are included in the rent. My roommates and I cover electricity, internet, and gas. Electricity has been the highest utility cost for us, peaking at about $38 each this winter. It's been noticeably lower since. The apartment includes in-unit washer and dryer units, a gas stove and oven, a microwave, a garbage disposal and a living room. There is no centralized AC but you'd be welcome to bring a window unit. The roommates who will be here this summer are three students, all women. They are very friendly, clean, and quiet, as well as often busy. I'd strongly prefer female applicants. We all take turns with common cleaning tasks, such as taking out trash and recycling. The kitchen and bathroom are shared, as is storage space in the fridge, freezer and pantry. The landlord is quite accessible through email or phone. Rent is typically paid through Zelle, but I'd probably have a subletter pay me directly and then I'd send that on to the landlord.

I don't know much about parking because I don't drive, but there are metered street spots nearby and I could find out more information about longer-term options if needed.
