Room for rent in spacious 2bed, Brighton Center, 1 cat ok, $1300/month (SEPT 1st move in)
I am looking for a female identifying roommate to join the lease for 1 bedroom in my current 2 bed apartment in Brighton Center, near the Brighton courthouse. Rent would be $1300 a month, heat included, and parking (in a lot right in front, really... super nice parking setup actually) is $210 a month. The 86 and 57 bus routes stop nearby too, so it's good for getting to Harvard and BU, green line not too far as well. It's very close to the many shops of Brighton Center on Washington street. Move-in would be September 1st.
I have a cat, Nano, 1 1/2 years old. If you have a cat, especially a younger one that could play with Nano as he is young and still has a lot of energy, this could work out well as they do allow up to two cats (no dogs). If you don't have a cat, I am contemplating moving Nano's brother from Wisconsin as a playmate. So there -could- be two cats around.
There is a small porch that faces the courtyard. The 3rd photo of what would be your bedroom is furnished but that is my current roommates stuff, you'd have to bring your own furniture, however the rest of the apartment is furnished including a tv in the living room. The bedroom for rent is spacious and gets lots of sunlight in the morning. 3rd floor apartment and no elevator so not super great accessibility-wise. There are laundry machines for the building on the first floor. About me: I'm 40, I work as a research fellow in a neuroscience lab at BU by day, and artist 'on the side' with an interest in microscopy of plankton (etc) and digital fabrication, I spend a lot of time at my studio at Artisans Asylum which is a quick drive or bus ride away.
I would prefer a female identifying roommate, ideally, but I'm open to many possibilities. The apartment is spacious for Boston standards. I guess I'd like someone not planning on having big parties all the time, but some gatherings are fine- I myself don't have people over a lot, but once and a while a friend comes over, birthday party once a year, etc. Once in a while I work on an art project at home but by and large I keep the common areas clean, though my own room can get a bit messy at times. I also have a peloton bike, 5-50lb adjustable dumbbells, and a folding weight bench that you would be welcome to use, all in the living room. Like a mini gym inside the unit. There is also a prusa 3d printer in the living room which you would also be welcome to as well- it's usually not running 24/7 but there are times when it gets busier and does run overnight.
